Titel: Immunoparesis in multiple myeloma: A population-based study on implications for prognosis and risk of infection.
Tid og sted: Fredag d 2. februar kl 14 i Auditorium 2 Rigshospitalet.
Synopsis: Immunoparesis, polyclonal hypogammaglobulinemia, is a frequent condition in MM and is considered part of the explanation of MM- patients' lack of response to certain vaccines. Immunoparesis has in small studies previously been shown to increase the risk of severe infections in MM and been found as a prognostic marker in MM and Smoldering (asymptomatic) Multiple Myeloma (SMM) patients. However, the clinical consequences of immunoparesis has never been systematically analysed in population-based cohorts of MM and SMM patients.
